If you have been reading this blog for awhile, you probably know that I (Daniel) believe that virtually anyone can benefit from having a blog, especially aspiring writers. How come? First of all a blog will force you to write every day, and this practice will do wonders for your writing skills. Secondly, a blog will also enable you to network with other people, show your expertise, grow a loyal audience and so on. In some cases it might even become a business, making some money to complement your day job (perhaps enough to let you quit it).
At this point you might be asking yourself: “Is it really possible to make money with a blog?” The answer is a big “Yes.” In fact some of the most popular blogs in the world (e.g., PerezHilton.com or TechCrunch.com) make millions of dollars every year. And you don’t need to go to the very top to see the money. I don’t consider myself particularly gifted, yet I am already making six figures annually with my blogs.
Obviously I don’t preach that making money with blogs is quick or easy. Quite the opposite: it will take time and a heck lot of work. But it is possible, especially if you know what you are doing.
Now if you want to get started with a blog, or if you already have one but are neglecting it, I wanted to recommend an ebook that I wrote and released a couple of weeks ago, titled “Make Money Blogging.” Don’t worry, the ebook is completely free. You just need to go here and subscribe to the Daily Blog Tips newsletter to be able to download it (and you can unsubscibe anytime if you don’t like the tips you will get there).
I basically cover all the core concepts that you need to keep in mind when creating, promoting and monetizing your blog. The ebook has 54 pages of content, divided into five chapters: Content, Design & Usability, Networking, Promotion and Monetization.
Check it out, I am sure you will find some useful information inside.
