Original: Her book didn’t come out until October 2010 because the company changed ownership.

If only the month and year are given, no comma is necessary between the month and the year. Likewise, no comma is needed to set off the year from the rest of the sentence. NOTE; If there is some other reason for using a comma, then a comma may appear after the year. For example, "Because the company changed hands in October 2009, her book didn’t come out until the following year."

When the address falls at the beginning or in the middle of the sentence, add another comma after the state to separate it from the rest of the sentence. Place a comma after the first digit in number groupings of more than three digits.
