The previous modules provided definitions and examples of the twelve English verb tenses and how to use them in sentences. However, even native English speakers can sometimes confuse tense usage and use them incorrectly.
Verb tenses are important tools in grammar that enable us to show when an action took place (past, present, future), the duration of an action (simple, continuous), and the relationship between events (perfect).
The misuse of these tenses can change the intended meaning of a sentence and hinder effective communication.
