Dear Daniel,

Thank you for offering this opportunity to all of us writers and readers as well as your Daily Writing Tips which I look forward to each morning.

I usually write speculative fiction, however SUNSET is near and dear to my heart. Both of my parents as well as my step dad died of cancer and my daughter is a cancer survivor. This was written when my daughter was going through chemotherapy. With so many families touched by this disease, I wanted to honor those heroes who bravely fight their battles with the support, love and understanding of their families.

I also want to thank White Smoke, it’s a great program.

Sincerely,
Ginger Edwards

Thank you DailyWritingTips for hosting this contest, and WhiteSmoke for sponsoring it. This is the first time any of my work has seen the light of day, so I appreciate the opportunity you gave me.

There were two exceptionally good stories that I would like to mention as my favorites—“The Intruder” by Eunie Guyre and “Morning Meeting” by Jaguar.
