Hi, I'm Whitney Henderson... I live right now in Colorado, but am moving to Charlotte, NC for the summer to focus on my writing. Sort of like a summer-long writer's retreat. At my sister's house.

Anyway, I'm a licensed attorney but I haven't practiced in a couple of years. I write personal essays and am working bit by bit on a memoir. I also am working on a novel.

Basically, I just recently decided to take my writing seriously and really give it my all. So here I am!

Here I am posting replies, when I haven't even introduced myself yet!

I'm Deb, and I've been writing freelance for about four years. I've also completed coursework in copyediting. (A bona fide outlet for my OCD tendencies.) I have an avid interest in ecoliving, which I define as living in a sustainable, simple, and aware manner. I focus on the homefront. I post weekly to my ecoliving blog, PlanetHabit.com, and write an advice column for newbie freelancers called Deb's Write, which is also found at PlanetHabit.com or DebKincaid.com.

I'm just now learning how to write fiction. Although I've had short-short stories place in contests, I really don't know how to carry off the mechanics of longer length fiction writing. To fix that, I've enrolled in a class at my local community college. Maybe I'll learn something. Hey! It could happen.

I am a word addict and enjoy DWT immensely. I'm sure I'll learn much from other forum participants as well, and maybe I'll say something helpful to another someday.

I live in the gorgeous Pacific Northwest, moving here nearly four years ago from Phoenix, Arizona--a narrow escape for which I'll be forever grateful to my husband!
