Hello all
As a first time poster I though I should start with a hello, although I wont introduce myself, sounds too much like being at an AA meeting! All I will say is I have been writing for the last couple of years mostly in relation to a Media production degree and am looking to develop my writing in particular for Scripts fiction and poetry. I wanted to add a poem I worked on recently and get some feedback, It is still quite rough and was done in one sitting so be nice!! lol I look forward to some feedback though :)
Moment in the Darkness
It is in those moments,
Quiet in the darkness
When everything slows
The ebb and flow of the moment
Failing to allow for the distraction of time or life itself
When the heart and soul rise up
Screaming with desire
Writhing against the chains that bind it
Praying to the emptiness of the night
Existence falls from grace, allowing us to dwell
The universe of silence surrounds us
No longer stifled
By the struggle of a life more ordinary
Stillness settles in
Breathing calms
Waves of simple rhythm beat in harmony
The echo of a yearning heart
Sight can escape us
In the darkness of that place sight moves beyond
We see through the world, past it
Perception becomes our eyes, peace our sight, Dreams our world
A playground of the minds eye
Offering the shelter from a world of feeling
We become numb to the thoughts and pains that haunt us
Fear melts
As if the ice that has bound us slowly fades away
And then the music rises within us
No tune or melody
And yet it resonates within us
Bliss incarnate for a moment of life transcended
All given to us in that one moment in the darkness
