Don't you hate it when perfectly good spelling is mangled by someone relying too heavily on a spell-checker?

Today's example is from an AP story:

Officer pulls gun during stop of Diddy's entourage (http://www.sfgate.com/cgi-bin/article.cgi?f=/n/a/2008/08/25/entertainment/e130527D64.DTL)
...
Diddy was traveling on Sunset Boulevard in a seven-car convoy when a deputy pulled over one of the vehicles. Combs was not in the car that was stopped for having an expired registration tag.

Sheriff's spokesman Steve Whitmore says the deputy became concerned when several men approached the vehicle. The deputy upholstered his gun and the situation quickly cooled down.
On a hunch, I typed the word unholstered into MSFT Word, and sure enough, it was flagged as a misspelling, and upholstered was the suggested correction.

I'd go with grey kidskin leather to highlight the blue steel.

One of several reasons why I have the spellcheck, grammarcheck and all auto-correct functions turned off on my computer.
