expressions and sayings

One of the most difficult things for me as a non-native English speaker is translating Dutch sayings and expressions into English. Online dictionaries and BabelFish are not very good at this, because they look at one word at the time. I usually understand English sayings, but what I am looking for is a site or sites where I can find lists and lists of English expressions, sayings, proverbes, .... A picture is worth a 1000 words and a single saying or expression can sometimes replace one or two paragraphs of explaining.
