quoting from another book?

Ok...if you are writing a book, but the character is reading something from another book. How do you quote it? And if the books name is mentioned do you underline it? Any help appreciated, thank you?

I have found out the answer to this....for those of you who want to know the answer: You don't have to cite another book, you just have to get permission from the person who owns the copyright if you are directly qouting the book. Unless of course the copyright ran out....like The Christmas Carol, then you don't have to worry. :)
