In the following sentence, what would be considered the nouns:
I grew up in the country, surrounded by farms and woods.
This is for a fourth grade classroom and we (teachers) are not sure if pronouns like "I" should be considered nouns or not. Obviously, pronouns can be substituted for a "person", so we're thinking they should be, right? Or maybe not? Any feedback is greatly appreciated! Thanks!
