:confused:If I want to write the word "nothing" in cockney English; I guess I would have to write it like it sounds: "nofin" or "nufin". In cockney they pronounce the th like an f? How would I write this in text so that there is no chance of a misread, or misunderstanding? How do I indicate that the "th" have been substituted for an f? My audience may not be familiar with cockney pronunciation. Any ideas?

It seems that "nufin" would do it.

Has Cockney pronunciation changed over the years? I recall reading older books in which the Cockney characters' pronunciation of "nothing" was rendered as "nufink."

:)Thanks Maeve.

Nufink is older cockney; Charles Dickens era. These days, nufin would be more accurate. I should know, I live 'ere.

Watch I'm a Celebrity Get Me Out of Here for an up-to-date cockney accent. Joe Swosh is about as cockney as they come!
