deepaq, I think writing clearly and efficiently is essential these days.

A long time ago, when you still had a great percentage of the population working on rural parts of the country or on streamlined production factories perhaps it was not that important.

Today, however, virtually any job or profession will require you to have some contact with computers and to exchange information with them and with other people.

Guess what, if you are not able to express ideas and facts clearly you might face problems along the way.

I'm glad to hear that you're attracted to writing.

There are many forms of writing. I mostly like the one where I can escape from this world and create my own, a perfect one :)

However, I advise you to wait and see what happens. It might be just now. I think it's for your own good - if you start writing now, without really wanting it, you might end up being disappointed.

Deepak,
Writing is an extension of thinking. Sometimes I don't know what I think about a subject until I've written about it.

You don't say what kind of writing has begun to attract you. Are you thinking of the kind of writing you need for business? Or are you thinking of creative writing? Perhaps you don't have any particular kind of writing in mind.

Something you might consider doing is getting a notebook and writing something in it every day. Write about something you read in the newspaper or in a blog. Write about your job or a stranger you noticed on the bus. See where this kind of writing will take you.:)

Hey, MAeve - I like your advice about writing something in a notebook every day.

There's one thing I would like to add - write all you can, but don't forget to give yourself a reward from time to time and don't let writing become a chore. This way, you won't become discouraged quickly. :)

Is it better to write what you want to write (ex: an article) and then submit it to a magazine, etc....or should you scope out the magazine and then write for them what you think they might like...or contact them first and see what they would like? I am new at this, if you couldn't tell. :)
