Friends:

Doesn't it strike you all how poor modern day word processor spell checkers are? Mine don't recognize variants of a word and has a very limited vocabulary. (Mac OS X 10.5 built in)

Does anyone know how to add words to it in bulk? Is there a much better one?

Good point.

I think the easiest solution is to add words as you go.

It takes time for sure, but I don't know anything else that would fix the problem.

Hmm, I haven't noticed that with Linux. Though I have installed some additional spelling libraries. I can't remember what are its names.

I so rarely ever use my spell-checker, because I simply don't trust it. I mean, sure, it can catch the occasional typo, but since it's not smart enough to know "its" from "it's," well ...

And don't even get me started on the so-called grammar checkers!

You really cant trust spell-checkers blindly cos they just check spellings, not the usage of words in sentences. This is our job to proof-read these. Cos a machine will always remain a machine can't compete human mind.

Currently, there are no such spell-checkers or grammar-checkers that can catch such mistakes. Therefore, beware, while writing and sending it to someone, you should always proofread.
