I recently got the bug (again) to try a novel (second try). I looooooove my old Olympia DeLuxe typewriter and have written about 30 pages of the novel on it in the last two weeks. (I've also most of my non-fiction writing on it.) It just looks and feels and sounds beautiful. However, with my schedule I only have time to write in my garage, with the Olympia, on days off or late at night. I realized that if I really want to knock out the first draft of this novel in a couple of months I should switch to a spiral notebook - the easiest way to stay portable. I ride the bus for about an hour each way for work and I could also write on lunch breaks and whatnot. Writing long hand is quite natural for me and has been my secondary writing method over the past year when I haven't been able to bring the typewriter with me. I'm really excited to be working on a novel again and to get the first draft done ASAP.
This whole concern is silly but I just had to whine about it a little. :p
