Hello Everyone,
Mike from Rhode Island here. just wanted to say what a great site all of you have created. I say "all of you" because it seems like the collective unit as a whole seems to really help make this a positive and educational writing resource site.
As for me: I am currently writing short stories as a way to break into the magazine and short fiction contest circuit. From what I understand, this is a great place to start when planning on becoming a novelist. That way when you send a query to an agent or publisher, they can see some credentials on it.
I'm 29 years old, which I know is probably a late time to start writing in your life, but I have never been one to be punctual.
Anyway, thanks again for the great site and I hope I can contribute my fair share of helpful tips along the way.
