But you've got to admit that in their heyday in the '30, Epiphony made one hell of a guitar.

Oops, sorry, that's Epiphone.

I have not heard someone bandy about the word epipheny, as if to elevate a mundane idea to the level of the mundane. In my experience, I believe people do set aside the word in order to express something bigger than usual. What that unusual may be is relative, but I don't question another's route to salvation.

The point of your article was well written, well organized, and well founded, with one exception. The one exception was that: "It (Epiphany) commemorates the visit of the Magi to the Christ child and represents the manifestation of his divinity to the Gentiles." This is a latter day idea that sprung up in the western, Roman Catholic Church.

A good explanation of the event commemorated on the Feast of Theophany is to be found in a homily (http://www.orthodox.net/theophany/theophany-chrysostom.html) by the most renowned of all Orthodox Catholic preachers, Saint John Chrysostom (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/John_Chrysostom). That event was the Baptism of Jesus Christ (Matthew 3:13-17) The manifestation itself is recorded in Matt. 3:16.
